iSteaks Grill House @ Holland Village

My friends and I planned for dinner yesterday but we were too late that our initial plan failed because the restaurant we initially want to go was packed and we're close to their last order calls. And so, as we roam around, we decided to drive to Holland Village. To my surprise, the streets was emptier than usual. Many shops were close and we wonder. Was it because of the football games, by any chance?
As recommended by one of our friends, we went for iSteaks. Most of us had the mushroom chicken that comes with 2 sides, I chose the french fries and coleslaw, the basics, haha. But surprise, surprise, the recommended wasn't as special as the Aglio Olio. The saltiness was spreaded evenly throughout every single strands of the Spaghetti noodle. Yum yum.

Last but not least, I have to give them the credit for their fries, it's tasty babehh. Haha.

To conclude, my recommendation would be the Aglio Olio.

Food Leisure @ One Raffles Place

Haha... I don't know what's up with my craze for Hor Fun these days but I can't help it to get attracted by their pictures plastered on the walls of their stalls. These two stalls are located on the 5th floor of the One Raffles Place.
The picture on my right is known from Ipoh. Well at least the sign says it was. This one was slightly different from the picture at the top. This was garnished with minced pork with a generous amount of ikan bilis; whereas the picture above was topped with chicken. Both has its own, flavor to it. I like it.

Wheat BaumKuchen Pastry & Noodle Bar

Having to work in the central business district has its pros and cons, I'll say. I'm talking about food here. From the many food choices you have to make everyday at lunch time to thinking what time slots will be the best time to go, to avoid the hungry office people and lastly, 'price'. Having said that, to me, price comes in second after quality. For me, if my tummy is happy I am happy. And so, what's making my tummy happy lately was this wonderous, Crispy Chicken with green noodle soba, introduced by my colleague. I was surprised that the soba doesn't leave you heavy in the tummy but yet, feeling satisfied and wanting for more (haha). I am definitely going back for more, as they have a wide selection of dishes on their menu.

McCafe @ Causewaypoit

This is such a late post, last weekend, I had an afternoon coffee/tea time with my friend. My initial thought of cafe hoping, wasn't much fulfilled, after the heavy lunch, followed by desserts andddd to the extreme of extreme, squeezing that little room space in our tummy to just have coffee or tea. We hopped to McCafe. But, places wouldn't be a matter if you are hanging with friends and just chillax. At first, what's got me and my friend coming in was because starbucks was loaded as hell and we are highly unlikely to grab a table. Besides, it wasn't such a bad idea afterall, the staff coffee artwork over the cappucino, amazed me, my green tea was a little over on the sweeter side; however refreshing despite the hot weather. All turn out for the better. It was a good ending to our meet up.

Gelateria Italia @ Causeway Point

Do you love waffles?I love waffles? Being it for brunch with poached eggs or for dessert topped with ice cream, I love them all. Even though my stomach were about to burst after a heavy lunch, i managed to stole a bite from my friend's waffle. I have to say, their waffles are so crispy and hot made out of the pan. And of course, with my recent obsession of the Affagato, I had to have one. If i were to choose one over the other, the waffle would definitely have won my vote. On the other note, having to hang out in the west doesn't make a huge difference compared to when you're in town. Having said that, The Gelateria located at causeway point has limited seating places so i would just have to say, try your luck.

Pizza hut @ Woodlands Causeway Point

I don't think i have to say much about pizza hut, I had a great meet up with my friend and her kids. We enjoyed ourselves. I thought we ordered too many especially with only 2 adults and kids buy we amazingly finish it all, I guess we are hungry haha^^

Wild for garlic @ Clark quay

To welcome the weekend with open arms, I met up with my ex-colleagues to have dinner at Clark quay. It took us a while before we settled down on wild for garlic. One of my friend fall ill so we decided to find something light to eat and that's when we stumbled upon wild for garlic. We ordered salad and pasta. I took a peep at the other tables where people order pizza and it looks delicious. Maybe next time I will be back. As for my salad, I had the cobb salad, my personal favorite. I've got to say I love salad, I am a salad lover haha.

Jones the grocer @ Ion Orchard

I feel that the best time to be in town would be during the weekdays. Especially the quiet time you could be having chit chatting with your friends to catch up on all the stuff we have missed.

I went to Jones the grocer on the weekdays last week, I had the wagyu burger while my friend had the sandwich. I am not so much into their fries but hell yeah their wagyu burger was what that makes me want to come back for more.

And, nothing gets more perfect than a dessert to end the meal. Since they have a huge selection of macaroons we had to ask the waiter for his opinion. And so he recommended the salted caramel macaroon. It's really good. Adding on to that we ordered the lemon meringue, it's not too sweet but it is good for 2. If I had that all to myself I think it will be slightly too much.

Overall great meal and service. Thumbs up!

Lai Heng Mushroom Minced Meat Noodle @ Bukit Timah

To start my Sunday right... I have to hunt for some new places that I haven't been too. With my love for bar chor mee, I decided to go to Lai Heng. According to my research they were initially located in Toa Payoh. I love their crispy pork oil (I don't know if I say it correctly).

Their portions are very generous. It costs $3.30 per bowl. Yum yum. Don't you love local hawker delicacies. I dooo:))

After our meal we went to the market closeby, located closely with the town council and had coffee. Good coffee indeed.

Loysel's Toy

We went for coffee yesterday right after from Ban Heng. I don't know what's up with my Saturday, nothing seems to be going right. Initially we wanted to go to 40 hands but the place was overloaded with people as expected on a Saturday and so we went to Loysel's Toy. I wanted to order their Affagato but they ran out of ice cream so I ordered the mocha and latte but the coffee were Luke warm not got enough for me:(

But I am definitely going back again for their egg benedicts because I was told that it is really good.

The closest mrt to get here will be the lavender mrt. Nice place to get some relaxation from the crowded town area. Haha^^

Andddd...A nice hang out area too but limited parking area.

Glace @ Republic Plaza

Today's my mom's birthday:) I ordered this strawberry cake from Glacé a couple of days prior via their website and went to pick it up today after work. What's getting me worried up was when my order was being placed on pending and they only get back to me yesterday so i was even thinking of a back up plan. For a split second I thought I might not have a birthday cake for my mom. Besides all that drama, their cake are really good, well I meant the strawberry cake because that's the only one I tried. The strawberry and the raspberry are sour but it blends very well with the cream and the sponge cake so it makes it not too sweet. I wouldn't say that it was the best that i have tried but it's comparable.
FYI, there's no seating at the Republic plaza location so if I were to go there again I might choose their other branches.

Wang Dae Bak Korea BBQ Restaurant

Today I had lunch with my colleague to this Korean restaurant. I ordered a normal ramen, it was good. My colleague had the beef, didn't try them but seems tasty too. We love their side dishes. For me I like one particular side dish, the peanut dip in light sweet sauce. I never had that side dish in other Korean restaurants that I have been to before so it's pretty refreshing. I think the next time I am coming here i would go for their BBQ. Hehe^^

Jenny Bakery from Hong Kong

Our family have gotten lots of love from HK. I love to travel and if I have a break, I would love to visit Hong Kong to meet my friend and also to get this goodie. Yay!!! This has been my all time favorite since the day it was given as a gift so whenever someone go to HK, they know what to get for me hahaha. I am just kidding. But really, this is my favorite, the cookies are so soft and melts in your mouth.

I heard that it's a hassle to get these cookies because the queue is super long; roughly about on average 1hr waiting time.

It's definitely worth the wait.

Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant @ Vivo City

I always like to make full use of my weekend. I like to find new place to eat, I love to watch movies. After a tiring week of work, I find that one should enjoy themselves.

Yesterday after a movie we went to Brotzeit @ Vivo. I was told they serve good German beers as well as their well known sausages, pork knuckles and so on and so forth.

The best of the best, I feel, would be the ambience and their location. They have a great view, overlooking the sentosa boardwalk and sentosa itself. And, you might catch some fireworks from USS, like I did, it's amazing.

Take a seat outside and enjoy the breeze in the evening, you'll enjoy it.

Gelare @ AMD Hub

I love waffle. Haha^^ they have a choice for you to choose from either a chocolate glaze topping, like the one my friend had (the regular waffle) or the maple syrup topping (the half waffle). Well its hard to see the maple syrup. I have this weakness for waffle, I find that any kinds of waffles is good enough except Belgium waffles.

You might think why, right? Or you may not be second guessing. Haha. Because the Belgium waffles are too sweet, they are coated with honey, well for most Belgium waffles that I tried, they are fairly sweet. However, I like the crunchiness of the Belgium waffles.

Go try them!

Ministry of Food @ AMK Hub

Yesterday I went to MOF with my friend. We had such an enjoyable lunch. I love the sushi at MOF, especially the salmon one. The place is kid friendly too, my friends kid definitely enjoy his lunch.

What attracts me the most to MOF was their large variety of green tea drinks. With my love for affagato and green tea, it's hard for me to resist getting one for myself especially having the best of both world, (coffee and green tea) in a cup.

BUT, I think I still prefer a vanilla ice cream in my affagato because their green tea was great on its own but not so much of a perfect match in a cup. The combination was a little off because it left me hanging with no certainty of what I was consuming.

I still their sushi. A decent one, you could enjoy in the area.

Yuen Long Hong Kong Pastry & Buns @ AMK

Cravings for pastries for an afternoon tea? I just got the place for it. I have to say initially I don't like BBQ pork because it's kinda sweet and I don't even eat BBQ pork bun. But, surprisingly enough, I love this place, honey roasted char siew pastry. Some get the other one, not the honey roasted, I forgot what it's called, it seemed much more popular than the one I prefer. But oh well, I like the honey roasted one, the size was just so perfect not too big and not too small, yummy.

I introduced them to my friend and they loved it.

The store is hard to miss because the aroma of the pastry can be smell as you walk along the various shops.

Dessert bowl @ Serangoon

My friends might be asking me, what was I doing at Dessert Bowl? For those who have not know me, FYI: I don't eat Durian. So if you can't stand the smell don't go there, unlike me, I was probably being well trained by those around me, to the point where my nose is sensitive to the presence of durians but I am ok with it. For example, there was this one time, I can smell durians from 1-2 blocks away, I mean it, depending at times.

As you could probably tell, I ordered the glutinous rice with vanilla ice cream, so yummy. My friends ordered the Durian puree, I think, I forgot the exact name for it.

So, for those durian lovers, try them out. There was a queue when we went there, it was a Friday night but it wasn't that long of a wait, so just try your luck.

Their miniature display.

Chomp Chomp, Serangoon

A very good start for my Friday after a long day after work would be to gather with friends and have good food.

We ordered quiet a number of dishes, even though all are not shown in the picture. We ordered, stingray, you tiao, carrot cake, friend oysters, chicken wing(a must) and satay. And it's just for 3.

And what's even worst was that we went for dessert right after, check out on my next post.

The Rotisserie @ Capital Square Food Centre

Yup, I am back in Singapore a couple days back and back to work. Today I had lunch with my colleagues at this place called, The Rotisserie, it's a very quick, well served western food. They are well known for their roasted chicken and if you ordered the meal, it will come with a side; you can have it with vegetables or salads. Is my first time being here, so I chose the vegetables but after reading a couple of reviews it seems that the salad are better. The price wasn't that pricey too, so go try it.

Bon Bon Fine Chocolate, Sydney

Okay, I have to say I have a sweet tooth, I love desserts. And, as for chocolates, I prefer dark chocolate compared to milk chocolates; the darker the better but...don't get me wrong I don't like it too dark, preferably 75-80% max. As for baking, that's a whole other story.

This dark chocolate macadamias is seriously to die for, I hardly find macadamias in chocolate, soft but over here they have just what I was looking for. Try it, you'll love it. They have the milk chocolate flavor too for those who prefer the milk.

I bought mine at the Queen Victoria Building but I think when you walk around the Sydney street or in malls they have it too.

Dae Jang Kum Korean BBQ, Sydney

If you are along Goulburn St, you'll see this Korean restaurant, if you know me by now, I always went with the crowd. I love kimchi jigae, it's not sour which means it was not fermented that long. Some of my Korean friends told me that, the longer it was fermented the better but for me, the longer it is the sour it will be, so you do not want your kimchi jigae to be too sour, here's the place for you.

As for their doenjang jjigae, which is the Soybean paste soup, was on the OK! side for me, you can taste like other doenjang jjigae but I find less tasty.

As for the cold noodles, I have to say don't judge me on this because maybe it's just a personal preference that I don't like sweet stuff on my salty food so this dish is a no-no for me. But..for those who likes their sweet paste, go for it because their noodles are really good.

Sydney's Fish Market

What I am about to tell you are for those who loves seafood. Well.. if you don't love seafood, they do have fish and chips like the one that I ordered with their tasty fries. Apart from that, if you don't eat that much of raw food, they have lobster chilli. For me, I am crazy about oysters, I was told if I want to eat oysters don't go anywhere else, go to the Sydney's fish market because they sell oysters in dozens and happens to be cheaper compared to when you eat in restaurants outside.

And you might think, Japanese, seriously?!! No...This was cut fresh right before my eyes. Yums!!

Look at those oysters...drools.

Metropole Cafe @ QVB, Sydney

Do you love cafes? I love cafes. One of my top favorite places that I would love to visit again would be the Queen Victoria Building. The structure, the building itself and their antique elevator are amazing.

This cafe that is closest to the entrance of the building if you're off George street, it's hard to miss. The aroma of the coffee was what attract me to dine in.

My personal favorite will be their affagato. I love the strong taste of coffee with a touch of sweetness coming from the ice cream. It's just perfect.

My 2nd favorite would be their egg benedicts with mushroom and spinach. Yum.
