Blue Mountains, Australia

I've got to share some of my best blue mountains photos, it was rainy and foggy when we get there so I am pretty sad we can't get a good picture of the layer of rocks as we've expected. I think the eyes are best equipment to capture the moment but not my camera.

I had their fish and chips, it's not that hard to find because they only 1 cafeteria, food area to be exact.

And I had to share this scenic railway, which is my favorite ride of all haha...go research why hehe^^

The Wayzgoose Cafe @ Leura, Australia

On the 2nd day of our trip we went to Blue Mountains. We follow along a coach so when we were on our way to blue mountains the coach stop at this small town called Laura.

We have a short 20mins break but we were so hungry that we had to get ourselves something to eat. I am surprised they were pretty fast with our orders but I am thankful we've ordered only 1 dish to share since we do not have much time on hand.

Their well known for their mocha and it's really good, the weather up there at that time was about 10 degree Celsius so it was rather cold, so a hot cup of coffee was just perfect.

Their big breakfast consist of your choice of eggs so we chose poached, as I preferred it that way and as the yolk flows through the toast and then through the sausages, it just adds all up so perfectly together. Yummy

Sizzling & Hot Pot Kitchen @ Dixon House (Sydney, AUS)

Sorry everybody, i have been away for awhile, I went for a short vacation to Sydney, Australia and I didn't want to disappoint you viewers so I always do what I do best and search for good food to introduce on my blog.

For your information, I haven't been to Australia so I based on my research and experience as I go along.

Our first stop will be the Dixon House which is located at the heart of Chinatown, the Haymarket area. If you like spicy and salty food, here's the place. Every entrée you ordered, it comes with rice and their portions was very generous. So basically, you order and they will give you a number on your receipt and they will call you up after when the food is ready. As I have mentioned many times I will always go with the crowd and it seems this stall attracts most of the people in that location

It's worth a try:)

Coffee Club @ Marina Square

Our day couldn't get very much worst than this on friday. My friends and I were going for our usual second round right after our dinner @ Raffles Courtyard. We went to Coffee Club @ Marina square, their service was really slow and it wasn't that many people either. Our drinks which I didn't bother to take despite having to wait for 30min seem fairly easy to prepare and doesn't need a whole 30min to prepare. FYI, the drinks came way after we finished our macarons and nearly half way eating through our chocolate mouse. And talking about the macaroons, I suggest not to get them because it was way too hard.

And with the thought that nothing could ever go wrong with a chocolate mouse; we felt that we are munching something really bad, it was sour and at first I thought it was bitter taste from the chocolate; maybe?!! but my friend declared that it was sour. So in this mouse you do not get that soft consistency that you would get in a mouse basically.

So without finishing our chocolate mouse we decided to order their mud pie. We totally put our last expectation in this mud pie because we saw a couple other tables ordered it so we did the same.

And thankfully, the mud pie save our day. It's basically oreo hardened cookies chocolate based and chocolate ice cream top with coffee ice cream with oreo crumbles.

My friends and I agreed that we may be going back to coffee club but not this outlet.

Bittergourd Fish Soup @ Hong Lim Complex Market & Food Centre

If you know this Hong Lim area, you should know that they are well known for their curry noodle, wonton noodle and char kway teow but i have another personal favorite in the area which is the Bitter gourd fish soup at level 1.

I don't like bitter gourd, but surprisingly enough the bitter gourd being placed in the soup makes the soup very tasty. It has those kind of fishy bitter taste feeling to it.

Try them, very nice and light.

Raffles Courtyard Restaurant & Gazebo Bar @ Raffles Hotel

Okay it was a belated birthday celebration for my friend, we went to Raffles Courtyard to enjoy much of the ambience and food. Our experience was somehow surprising.

Firstly, we ordered the Bruschetta Mushroom and we felt the Bruschetta was too hard on the outside however the filling on the centre was really good. And for our entrée we had the Paccheri Con Funghi, which we felt kinda blend as we could only taste the cream and mushroom but the Paccheri was mostly blend. Besides that we had the Linguini Con Pesto, for this dish the taste was ok with the garnish of pine nuts and all but we didn't feel anything special about it.

So,  our conclusion for the night was whether or not we have picked the wrong dish or this place are just more to cocktails and getting some drinks with friends and hang out with the amazing ambience.

As for service, it was really great and accommodating.

I will definitely give it another try the next time around and order something else.

Mala Hot Pot @ People's Park Complex Food Centre

If you know me, I love spicy food especially szechuan food. I was told by my close China friend and she told me I should go to Chengdu in China because they have a lot of spicy food there.

To my surprise we found this stall at the people's park complex food Centre. What you got to do was, to pick any items and put in your bowl and choose your level of spiciness and they will do the mixing and cooking. It kinda reminds me of Mongolian grill in Ohio where you also pick your various items and they will cook for you.

It's hard for me to describe this but it's full of the spicy flavor and the saltiness and the Mala all in one. But it's not those kind of Mala that will make your tongue numb, this one is just nice because you get to pick your level of spiciness. I personally love it.

Annie's Peanut Ice Kacang @ Golden Mile Food Centre

Okay, I know this picture doesn't show their well known ice kacang, pardon me hehe^^ but I had their peanut ice kacang for to go, it was to die for. Yummy!! Besides that, I can't resist my all time favorite cheng teng and now I can say I found a new alternative that I can enjoy this dessert. Besides that, we ordered the bo bo cha cha, it's really good too, not too sweet and full of flavor.

This is definitely my go to dessert place. Thumbs up.

Mansaku Japanese Food #01-93 @ Golden Mile Food Centre

Believe it or not, I have not been to the Golden Mile Food Centre until today. I read some review somewhere that this jap stall has very good Katsu Don, so being curious as I always have been, I went to give it a try. If you know me, I don't like my food sweet. And everything in this fish including the katsu was cooked to perfection with the only fact that it's sweet. Well not super sweet so don't get me wrong, I guess the sweetness comes from the onions that is cooked together with the eggs and katsu. I bet my katsu Don lover friends will love this. So give it a try. And one other dish that we ordered was unagi, what can I say about that, it will always taste good except they put too much sweet sauce.

xin Heng Feng Guo Tiao Tan @ Whampoa Market

I was in the balestier area this morning for breakfast and for a morning breakfast, I like to have a heavy meal to get me going for the day; so I chose my favorite all time Minced pork noodle. This is stall number #01-14/15, as I've been told, they are well known for their steam boat which I haven't get to try them but personally, for now, I love their minced meat noodle.

As I have tried many other places that's sells minced meat noodle, I tend to notice that some are too dependent on their sauces to bring the flavor out of the noodle or they use Chilli oil and end of story but but but this place is surprisingly good. The sauces are penetrated through the noodles as though it's been cooked together. Yummy! Andddd, the noodles are not soggy.

Quarter to three Cafe

It was such a nice day out today. I was in raffles place and with the intention to meet my friend for lunch who is working at tanjong pagar, I decided to give her visit. Buttttt since I was too last minute in giving her the heads up, she already had her lunch; however, it was such a blessing in disguise because as I was walking along tanjong pagar road I stumbled upon this cafe. And so, I decided to hop in and give it a try myself.

To my surprise, the coffee was soooo good. I ordered the ice vanilla latte. Such a nice way to cool me down from this hot weather. However, after ordering I then realize they have an Affagato, damn. I would definitely come back and get that the next time around. It was such a nice ambience that I stayed in for close to an hour by myself, enjoying.

It's a small cafe but very cozy. I went during lunch hour and it wasn't that busy, so I am happy hehe^^. Well to be more specific, there wasn't any soul beside the lady that took my order when I came in but not long after, a bunch of office people came right in. But but but, I still managed to get my peace:)

Yishun 81 Foodcourt

This chicken rice is a must try. It's located at Blk 81Yishun food court. My friend is living in the area and she definitely knows what's good in the area. If you would like to have something more than just chicken rice, over here you are able to add gizzard with it. Yummy.

The chicken is so tender and the rice is cooked to perfection, not dry or too wet. Just the way I like it.

Ah Chew Desserts 阿秋甜品

Looking for a dessert place close by the bugis area, ah chew dessert is just the right place. I have been to this place many times. They have a varieties of dessert to choose from and whether or not you want it hot or cold. Something to note, towards the later evening, there will be alot of people but it's worth the wait and not long wait to. And, most importantly, it's a great hang out place with friends or family. Basically, that whole street is full of people dining in at the different restaurants.

Happy Mookata

I went to this place Happy Mookata located at the Golden Mile complex level 1. This was introduced by friends of mine. It's basically a Thai BBQ steamboat. It's so good. We went close to about 7.30pm or 8pm, around there and the place was packed; tables after tables of people. As my research goes, it seems that many people knew about this place so there isn't much I can say here, I just have to say, go try it. Personally I love thai food and since I have not tried thai BBQ steamboat prior to this, this is a great experience. The soup base was good after you mixed a whole load of prawns, veges, sausages and oil that's flowing from the above BBQ grill. Yum! Will definitely recommend this. We were a party of 7 people yesterday and the price falls to about $20 per pax so it was a reasonable price.

Chocolat N' Spice

This is also located at Thomson - Shufu.

Many go crazy about their muffins, I did asked around and they seem to like it. But, it's not so much for my liking. But I guess, it's very suitable for the elderly or those who doesn't like their muffins too sweet. But as for me, if I want a dessert or am having a sweet tooth, I want my dessert to be sweet but not too sweet also but I just like more of a chunky feeling in my muffin. I will indulge with no regrets. I will think of burning it off, later on haha^^

I think their specialty is the muffin. They have cakes as well but have yet to try them.

Mei Zhen Hakka Delicacies

Okay of you are in the Thomson area, there is this place called Shufu wet market. Right above the market, is where this stall is situated.

This is my parents favorite, I think the simplest English name for it is mushroom dumpling. It's rather oily but it's really good. The feeling is light so it doesn't make you bloat like a balloon.

And as for this yam cake, the taste are not fully infused into the yam so their flavor all depends on their Chilli. So i guess, it's just depends on personal preference, that's all. However, the Chilli does go well with the yam cake. Since I do not know how to make this, overall great effort.

Lorong Ah Soo Lor Mee

This is my 2nd time posting this post, it was supposed to be yesterday's, I don't know what happen to it. Anyway it was such a rainy day yesterday, in actual fact, it has been an on and off rainy weather these couple days.

Anyway, if you are like myself, getting tired of having porridge on a rainy day to keep warmth, I just have another best alternative.

This is located on Hougang Ave 3.

This lor mee is so flavorful, their meat ingredients are a great combo to neutralize the strong vinegar taste, if you are like me who are not so much of a vinegar person, this is just the right place. The taste of the vinegar are not too overpowering.

To end of this great meal, just a couple stall down, this kopi is the best in that market.

Taman Sri Tebrau Hawker Centre - Johor

If we are on a day in day out trip to Job or and looking just for food specificly. This place will be the one. My personal favorite will be the kwee tiao and stingray. Well, almost all the dish are delicious.

For the stingray, you have the privilege of choosing which one you prefer; for me, less meaty one will be best because the sauce will be penetrated more evenly and thoroughly into the fish.

KSL City Mall - Johor

I think the nearest shopping mall closest to the custom immigration is KSL. I don't remember the name of the restaurant, it is actually not located on a store but not a kiosk either.

We had the avocado drink. Yummy! Fully loaded, so concentrated.

Ah Koong Restaurant - Johor

Today I was out to Johor with my family. My dad introduced me to this place, it's amazing. If you are into Yong tau foo, this is similar to that.

Their other dishes, such as the fish soup, was also flavorful. Overall the meal is very light and not greasy. Thumbs up.

The only problem is parking. Their parking spaces are very limited.

Nanyang Kopitiam - Taman Sentosa, Johor Bahru

I was at taman sentosa, Johor Bàhru, I was in no mood for a massage like my parents so I went to the nearest coffee shop to have some afternoon coffee. I should say they have a decent coffee. I like the location because I can have coffee while my parents can do their massages.

I was hesitating between doing a massage or having coffee, I know, many might go for the massage but oh well, at least I found a decent coffee place to hang and wait.

We had the ice cream toast as well, and it's pretty good.

There are other coffee shops around the area as well if you are looking for one.

Dean & Deluca @ Orchard Central

Finding a place to hang around town that are not crowded, this is just the place. I haven't been here before but I have heard many good things about this place; so today I decided to bring my friends here for  a birthday celebration.

Personally I had the Nicoise salad with smoke salmon, it's a reasonable portion amount that gives you that ample space for dessert. The smoke salmon was salty but it fits perfectly with the salad and cherry tomatoes. My friends had the egg benedicts with smoked salmon and the potato salad, all so yummy.

I am definitely going back again to try their other dishes, especially their pancakes, looks delish.

For a little birthday treat for the birthday girl, we had their rainbow cake. Thumbs up.
